Expensive repair bill!!
March 06 2007
An example of the world’s fastest production
car, the Bugatti Veyron, was involved in a road
accident in Surrey on Sunday afternoon, March
4, and its driver has since been charged by police.
The unnamed driver is said to have lost control
of the 1000bhp, 253mph supercar when it hit a
patch of standing water on the B375 near Shepperton.
The four-wheel drive Veyron then aquaplaned and
crashed nose first into a ditch by the side of
the road, but hit a Vauxhall Astra Estate.
There were no injuries reported in either car
but a pregnant woman in the Astra was taken to
St Peter's hospital in Chertsey for precautionary
reasons.
The road was blocked, and the accident occurred
in a short stretch of national speed limit on
the road, which was very wet. Surrey Police report
witnesses that saw the £800,000 Bugatti
travelling at excessive speed, and have charged
its driver with driving without due care and
attention.
